The Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre, Penrith, 22 and 23 August 2026. Two rooms running flat out from 8am, nearly 80 bands across 18 sections, brass and concert and a small army of school bands, and Brassbanned streaming both halls, live and free, all weekend.
Watch live
Two halls, two streams, pick your room (or open both and pretend you’re the contest supervisor):
- ▶ Hall 1: Concert Hall, the concert band grades, Saturday and Sunday
- ▶ Hall 2: Q Theatre, the brass band grades and the primary school divisions
Both pages have live chat and the day’s schedule under the player. Streams go live shortly before the first band each morning.
Section start times
Approximate and Sydney local (AEST). Contests being contests, sessions drift, so tune in a little early. Running orders and band lists will be published here as soon as BANSW confirms the draw.

New to banding?
Start with what a brass band is and how it differs from a concert band, then what actually happens at a band contest and how to watch like a pro.
Full results and both halls’ complete replays will land on this page once the weekend is done. Fresh from last weekend: the 2026 Victorian State Championships results and replays.
